Far too many children with additional needs in Dublin 1 struggle to get a school place every year.

When they do, many have to travel miles on a daily basis. Hundreds more in the area are in inappropriate school places despite the brilliant efforts of local schools.

Dublin 1 needs a special school.

Our children with the greatest additional educational need face a double disadvantage. There is overall shortage of special school places nationally and when places become available, a Dublin 1 child will never be top of the list.  They live outside the catchment area of any of the existing special schools.

This is a basic inequality that has to change.

Help us deliver a strong message to the Department of Education, that this has to change.

Every child should get the education they need and deserve.
